New: Associate To-Do Lists with a Milestone

Monday, January 05, 2009 Link

In 2009 we will continue to improve existing functionality and to add new features to axalee. The first new feature this year affects to-do lists and milestones. A to-do list can now be associated with a milestone.

In the display of milestones the associated to-do lists will now also be displayed under the corresponding milestone. By clicking the name of the to-do list you navigate to a detail view of the to-do list.

This direct navigation to the detail view of a to-do list is now also possible from the project overview. In the project overview, new and completed tasks of the project are displayed.

New: File upload

Monday, December 29, 2008 Link

Paying accounts can now upload files.

To upload a file to a project, go to that project from the dashboard and change to the tab "Project Files". Here you will find a link to upload any file. In the upload form you can enter the path to a file on your local machine, a file name, and an optional description.

The uploaded files will be diesplayed in reverse chronological order, i.e. the latest files will appear at the top of the list. The list displays the creation date, the file name, the description, the name of the person who uploaded the file, and the file size. To download a file, simply click on the file name.

In the right sidebar, the file storage usage for the whole account will be displayed. You cannot upload further files, if the file storage limit has been exceeded for your account. The file storage limits are 1 GB for the M account, 3 GB for the L account, 10 GB for the XL account, and 20 GB for the XXL account.

Formatting Messages

Monday, December 22, 2008 Link

Messages can be formatted using the markup listed below. Although this feature has been present from the start, it is now also documented in the application itself.

To embed pictures in your messages, simply upload the picture to some service like flickr or picasa, and then refer to the url of your picture from within your message with

Here is a partial list of the available markup.

New: Feedback and Help

Monday, December 15, 2008 Link

This week we introduced two new functions which you can use to communicate with us.

The menu entry "Help" in the upper right corner of every page now launches a help form in a seperate window. Using this help form, you can send us a question or describe a problem by email to our support. In the first input field you may pose your question in a short and concise sentence. This will be the subject-line of the email. In the textfield below this, you can describe your problem or question in more detail. Below this textfield, your email address will be displayed, as it is maintained in your profile. Please check, whether the email address is correct. As soon as you send your request it will be sent as an email to our support. We will answer your question as soon as possible, usually within one business day.

Also new is a little text field on the right border of each page. Here you can send us questions and suggestions. We will also do our best gto answer your questions as soon as possible. Please make sure that the email address stored in your profile is correct, so that we may come back to you.

We hope to hear from you and will be glad to answer your questions.

Changed: Permissions for Tasks

Sunday, December 14, 2008 Link

The permissions to create, edit, and delete tasks and lists have been changed a little bit:

Project members with the permission to create tasks may now edit and delete all lists and tasks of the project. They may now also add tasks to lists which have not been created by themselves.

The previous approach, which allowed project members to edit only the lists they have created themselves, proved to be obscure and impractical.

New Feature: Reminder For Milestones

Monday, December 08, 2008 Link

It is now possible to assign a milestone to a person.

When a new milestone is created or an existin milestone is edited, persons or companies associated with the project can be selected from a drop down list as being responsible for this milestone. If you check the checkbox below the list the person responsible will receive an Email 48 hours before the milestone is due. If a whole company is responsible for the milestone, all persons of this company which are associated with the project will receive this Email.

On creation of a new milestone the creater will be responsible for this milestone by default. The checkbox for the reminder will also be selected by default.

Improved: Entry of Due Date for Milestones

Monday, December 01, 2008 Link

We improved the entry for the due date of milestones. The three (yes, we really had three!) drop down lists for entry of day, month, and year have been replaced with a neat calendar control. To select a day of the current month you simply click into this calendar control. This speeds up date entry considerably.

On top of the calendar control you will find two arrow buttons to move back or ahead by one month. By using the drop down list between these two arrows, you can even jump up to ten years back or forward.

The due date is marked within the calendar, as well as below it. For non-English readers, the names of the months have also been localized to their language.

As always, we welcome your feedback and questions. Do not hesitate to drop us a line at support[at]axalee.com.

New Feature: Assign Task to a Person

Monday, November 24, 2008 Link

Tasks can now be assigned to a person. When you create a new or edit an existing task, a drop-down list containing the companies and people associated with the project will be displayed. Companies are displayed in captial letters.

If you do not (yet) know the person responsible for a task you may chose the entry "any" from the "Who is responsible?"-list.

If you just know the company responsible, but not the person, you may select the company from the list.

If you know the person responsible, you may select this person from the list.

The persons or companies responsible for a task will be displayed in front of the task's description.

Announcement: Task Assignment, Email Notification, Shared Files

Monday, November 17, 2008 Link

We continually work on improving Axalee. Within the next four weeks we plan to implement some new features.

Task Assignment: Tasks can be assigned to a person or company. Project members will see who is responsible for what tasks. Own tasks are visible at one glance.

Email notification about upcoming milestones: 48 hours before a milestone is due, selected or all members of the project team will be notified via Emails. Thus, project members will be reminded of upcoming milestones and tasks to be still completed.

Shared files: Paying customers will be able to upload project files. This gives the members of the project team access to all needed files.

Simple and Efficient Project Communication with Axalee

Monday, November 10, 2008 Link

Today, Axalee went online. Axalee is a web based service to manage milestones and tasks of a project centrally. Axalee can be set up very fast (less than one minute) and is simple to use.

In these days project members often work at different sites. Distributing task lists by email will soon lead to chaos and intransparency. With Axalee, however, milestones, tasks, and news for the project teams are centrally available for everybody. The communication between team members becomes much more efficient in this way.

Axalee features only functions which are really needed to successfully manage a project. Complex features of other project managment packages, like for example dependency graphs or Gantt charts have not been implemented. By concentrating on the bare essentials Axalee is simple and can be operated intuitively.

Axalee is multi lingual. The user interface offers the choice between German and English. More languages will be added in the future.
